NEIGHBOURHOOD ENTRANCE Neighbours, about seven years ago, our sponsor, Chris Ecklund, started to look at the intersection of Upper Wellington and Rymal with the intention of having a 'Welcome Sign' installed, similar to what other communities have erected to greet visitors and returning residents. With such a beautiful location as this intersection available to advertise our park, it is a shame for it to be used simply for agents to post their signs. Sample pictures here:
Mr. Ecklund has met with City officials on site, and a preliminary investigation of our possibilities has already commenced. Please note that this is all preliminary- nothing is guaranteed. This is simply a fact-finding mission, so to speak. The City has provided Mr. Ecklund with samples of what other designs are available, and given him some options for us. What we could possibly do is vote for the most appealing one by way of ballot, etc. At this time we are looking for volunteers who have knowledge of masonry / brick work, as we would like to see this installed by community members with no funding from the City. Donations of time / materials / expertise would be greatly appreciated. More details to follow. Let us know if you would be willing to help us out with this project.
